FiiO K5 Pro Desktop DAC & AMP Combo

The K5 Pro allows you to take advantage of digital audio with optical and coaxial inputs supporting up to 192kHz inputs, convenient for connecting various music players and digital interfaces. Fiio achieves new heights in sound quality with the K5 Pro, thanks to the high-performance AKM AK4493 DAC with 32-bit processing and VELVET SOUND technology, along with the XMOS USB decoding chip with 768kHz and DSD inputs. With the left and right audio channels being independently handled and fully differential audio output, the K5 Pro has such a high level of resolution you will be hearing details you never noticed before. The NJRC NW1195A analog volume adjustment chip features an ultra-low output noise of -118dB and is able to adjust volume by 0.5dB per step. And when this is paired with the combination of the flagship TI TPA6120 op-amp and the OPA1642 JFET op-amp, the K5 Pro provides wonderfully smooth, yet high resolution sound. The K5 Pro uses a DC 15V power supply designed to specifically minimize noise. The incoming DC power is filtered with a secondary power supply, which then independently supplies power to the amplification part of the audio circuit and the rest of the circuit. This effectively suppresses power supply ripple and minimizes power supply crosstalk between the two major sections of the circuit, for a more stable and less noisy power that is crucial for outstanding sound for such a precisely designed high performance audio architecture. Through reconstruction of the ADC curve, the K5 Pro’s volume control allows you to smoothly adjust volume at extremely fine increments without any undesirable noise nor with any channel imbalances. Low, medium, and high gain levels are available allowing you to use the K5 Pro with almost any headphone at comfortable volume levels. A purely hardware gain circuit is used at low gain, with unaffected and uncompromised dynamic range and overall music fidelity.
