I already had a good DAC, but I needed a streamer and didn't want to invest in a product I need to pay extra subscription. This one ticks all the boxes: Tidal connect, local (LAN) hires music, wifi, bluetooth, even MQA (if that's of any interest to you). Plugged, installed the app on the phone, and all works.Until it doesn't.It could be my network. I have a managed switch between my router and this device, and for some reason, the Bluesound Node is losing its IPv4 address every other day. Thing is - this is the ONLY device with the problem. I have tons of other devices (like 40-50) some wired, some wifi, and none is showing this behavior.I changed the IPv4 lease time to forever, I'll see in a few days if it solves the problem. It wouldn't be a problem if there was a power/reboot switch or something; but there's none. The only fix right now is unplug, wait a few seconds, and plug back. Then I'm all good for a few more days...

a bit fussy to set up. but once i used the cat 5 cable direct it worked great.but even if you can’t get the software to work you can still use it as airplay device. but now it works great. love it. so rich. amazing. maybe it’s my speakers. ha! but you need a great source.

Actually it’s a NODE - latest vers in spring 2022.Not a Node 2iSound is an upgrade from my previoys Node 2 player which bricked on an update and was quoted at $300+ to repair.I own a number of Bluesound devices and am invested in the ecosystem.
